Both David and Sally were born in Yorkshire, UK. Sally emigrated to Australia at age 12 and David at 28. While we don’t forget where we come from we are proud to make and sell our bags in Brisbane and have an Australian small business. The flower of Yorkshire is the white rose, which became the inspiration for the label, but Happy Bags is 100% Australian!

We ran a market stall at the Collective Markets Southbank every weekend for 13 years and exhibited at major shows like the Brisbane Ekka and the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Now we have transitioned more to an online store, but we still do the occasional event where people can touch and examine our bags. You can find us on Facebook or order from this site.

You will find unique fabrics and styles not available in the shops, and you will support a small business which employs local people. Suitable for all ages with a range of fabrics from funky to retro to classic. There are even bags for the guys!
